    Revenue at car rental company Europcar rose to €1,028 million during the first half of financial 2017, up 10.1 per cent at constant exchange rates with organic growth of 4.6 per cent. Adjusted corporate EBITDA at the company stood at €56 million, up 2.7 per cent at constant exchange rates.
  • Travelport signs partnership with UK-based Right Cars
    Travelport has today announced a new agreement with Right Cars, one of the fastest-growing car rental brands in the industry. Based in Brighton, UK, the company operates in 23 countries, providing car rental services in more than 140 locations including airport terminals.
  • Etihad cuts free chauffeur services outside of Abu Dhabi
    Etihad Airways has amended its chauffeur policy following a review of usage by premium guests across all major markets. The complimentary chauffeur service will be retained at Etihad Airways’ Abu Dhabi hub and replaced with a paid option at specially negotiated rates in all other cities.

  • IATA: Air travel records fastest first-half growth in 12 years
    The International Air Transport Association has announced global passenger traffic data for June showing that demand rose by 7.8 per cent compared to last year. This was in line with the 7.7 per cent growth recorded in May, with all regions reporting growth.
  • Germany welcomes increase in tourism arrivals in early 2017
    Incoming tourism in Germany grew strongly in the first half of 2017. To the end of June, the Federal Statistical Office registered 36.7 million international overnight stays (in accommodation companies with at least ten beds), 1.2 million more than in the same period of the previous year – an increase of three per cent.
  • UK government reveals plans to protect online holiday bookings
